Project Status: Monitor/Assess

This workgroup was formed to revise the existing Academic Warning Workshop.  Looking carefully at student feedback, data trends, and success metrics, it was apparent that a redesign was essential to accomplish the workshop’s goals.  The estimated launch of the new Academic Warning Workshop will be at the end of the summer 2023 term.

Accomplished

  • Approximately 470 students have participated in the new workshop since the summer 2023 launch
  • Students reported the following three reasons as to why they feel they are on AW:
    • Did not complete the work
    • Did not study enough
    • Did not attend class
  • 150 students have met with an Academic Coach since the new policy took effect after the fall 2023 grades posted

In Progress

  • Full assessment report on both the new AW workshop and new AP policy will be available after the summer 2024 term
  • Discussing the timing of holds and working to move the implementation to after the add/drop period
  • Working with OSS and the Learning Center to determine if there is a better practice regarding how and when we place holds on student’s accounts for academic standing
