Program Status: Complete

In an effort to improve the advising structure and services at PSU, Advising and Career Services (ACS) is engaging in an external program review led by fellows from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) to ensure that ACS meets the needs of students and the institution.

Use the buttons below to view the full NACADA Report and the Recommendation Response document which outlines the eleven NACADA recommendations, captures their initial considerations and recommended next steps.

Accomplished

  • Academic Advising Council reviewed and informed implementation of NACADA recommendations, specifically in defining the role of faculty advising and faculty mentoring
  • Internal assessment workgroup shared refined advising definition and draft mission, values, and position statements with the PSU advising community (June 2024)
  • AVP of Undergraduate Academic Advising engaged the advising community in prioritizing NACADA recommendations which informed strategic plan that is in progress.

In Progress

  • Associate Vice Provost is working on a strategic plan for implementation of assessment recommendation in collaboration with ACS, OSS, and other stakeholders. Plan to be communicated by Fall 2024. (see Undergraduate Academic Advising Strategy project)
