The Center for Internship, Mentoring and Research (CIMR) at Portland State University hosts programs for undergraduate students who want practical training, internships, and hands-on research experiences in real world settings. CIMR is a central student hub for research training and internship programs that promotes student outreach and awareness, provides pre-enrollment preparation and guidance, connects students with appropriate opportunities and experiences, and delivers shared programming.

CIMR features a variety of programs that provide mentoring, advising, and career development, including several that get students involved in faculty research projects and internships with community organizations. CIMR programs and programs share a central goal to diversify and indigenize the workforce in many fields including health and medicine, STEM, and climate resilience.

CIMR is also a central opportunity hub connecting students to these programs and opportunities. Learn more about how we support students.
