Finding the Perfect Fit at Portland State & Campus Rec

Anas Alazzouni is from Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and comes from a Chinese and Egyptian background. He has attended multiple schools in the last three and a half years, searching for a suitable program in supply chain and logistics management. His journey led him to Portland State, which seemed like a good fit and gave him the opportunity to live in the Pacific Northwest.

Anas was first introduced to Campus Rec when he began playing men’s soccer through Rec Clubs in 2018. Interested in working on his customer service skills, he pursued a position with Campus Rec’s Member Services desk in the summer of 2019.

“I like interacting with people and being able to solve their problems,” Anas explains.

Looking to take on more responsibilities, Anas accepted a position as a Student Building Supervisor. In addition to the responsibilities and leadership opportunities, Anas enjoys the culture and people at Campus Rec.

“Campus Rec prioritizes inclusion and diversity, which aligns with my personal values and beliefs,” he says. “I have also built good relationships with my coworkers, which makes for a fun work environment.”

Anas plans to graduate with a degree in supply chain and logistics management in the winter of 2021. He will then travel back to Saudi Arabia to start his career. His advice for other PSU students is to enjoy your time in school and not take it for granted.

Campus Rec is fortunate to have Anas as a part of our team. He has put so much dedication into everything he does, and has shown incredible promise during his first year working at Campus Rec, making him the perfect fit for the New Employee Award. Thank you and congratulations, Anas!

Each year, Campus Rec gives out awards to outstanding student employees who have gone above and beyond. The New Employee Award recognizes an exceptional employee who is in their first year working at Campus Rec. In the spring of 2020, Anas Alazzouni won a New Employee Award for his excellent work at Member Services and his dedication to his position as a Student Building Supervisor.
