Welcome to Portland State! We have many different transportation options to get you where you need to go, whether you bike, take transit, or ride a scooter, we have a program for you!

Park on Campus

Commuting to PSU by car, or storing a car on campus, can be expensive and the supply of parking is extremely limited. If you have no other option than to drive to campus, make sure to buy a parking permit before they sell out.

Commuter Parking

Commuter permits are designed for students whose schedule and/or credit load change from term to term. We have several commuter permit options to fit your schedule best

You can also learn about our hourly & visitor options for occasional car trips to campus without a permit.

Resident Parking

Are you thinking about bringing a car? Students living on campus are eligible for Residential parking permits. Residential permits are valid for the entire academic year (fall, winter, spring) and allow students who live on campus to store their car 24/7 for the duration of their permit.

Take Transit

Student Viking Pass

PSU is a hub of bus, light rail, and streetcar lines that get you to every part of the city. Ride transit with a Student Viking Pass which is a subsidized transit pass made for students to commute to and from campus at a lower cost. Using your Student Viking Pass gives you an easy, affordable, and sustainable option for getting to campus.

TriMet Reduced Fare Program

Eligible participants receive 50% off the price of regular adult fare. This means two-and-a-half hours passes can be purchased for $1.40 and day passes for only $2.80 (capped up to $28/month). To learn more and see if you qualify, visit our Student Transit Page!
