Stryker Evacuation Chairs
Portland State University is able to offer more safe evacuation options for individuals who may need assistance in an emergency. Evacuation chairs enable the efficient evacuation of disabled or injured persons from multilevel buildings who may not otherwise be able to evacuate a building. The stair tread tracks on the Stryker Chair allow for easy evacuation down stairs by a single operator, and two operators can help lift an evacuee over obstacles or up stairs.Training on the Stryker Evacuation Chair can be scheduled by emailing EHS-group@pdx.edu.
