Our weekly seminar series brings speakers to campus to dive deeper into a field of physics research. 

In-person seminar events:

  • Will be held in the Science Research and Teaching Center (SRTC) room 155 from 3:30 pm to 4:30pm
  • In-person events are open to the public
  • Building access is limited to seminar attendees
  • Some refreshments will be provided

Mark Gurevitch Memorial Lecture Series

In 2006, the Department of Physics began the Mark Gurevitch Memorial Lecture series as a tribute to Dr. Mark Gurevitch, former chair of the Physics Department.

The lecture series brings internationally recognized speakers to Portland State's campus.

Día de la Física/Day of Physics

In October 2023, the Physics Department hosted Día de la Física/Day of Physics with the National Society of Hispanic Physicists (NSHP), a nonprofit that represents Hispanic and Latino physicists in higher education, national laboratories, and industry in the U.S. and across the world.
