Every week during the academic year, Currently celebrates faculty and staff accomplishments, including appearances on panels, presentations, recent publications or performances, and research grants.

  1. Robert Asaadi, political science, was awarded the ISA-West Faculty Paper Award for his work titled “Iranian Domestic Politics after the U.S. Withdrawal from the Nuclear Deal.” 
  2. Heejun Chang, geography faculty, has been selected as a steering committee member for the Commission for Water Sustainability of the International Geographical Union (IGU). IGU is affiliated with the International Science Organization, facilitating international collaboration for the advancement of geographical sciences.
  3. Óscar Fernández, University Studies faculty, was assigned as a peer reviewer for grants for Emerging Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) and HSIs+STEM for the Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) with the U.S. Department of Education.
