Karin Tittelbach: Director of International Special Programs (Centered in picture)
Karin Tittelbach, a German native, came to Portland in 1994. She is a PSU graduate and has been working with domestic and international students since 1996. While serving as the Fiscal and Operations Manager in the Intensive English Language Program, she took on the management of short-term programming for international students and played a key role in developing the English Through Sustainability and Service-Learning Program through building partnerships with non-profit organizations in the Portland Metro area. With 7 years of program management under her belt, she joined ISP in the fall of 2021. Outside of work, Karin enjoys an active lifestyle with her family: hiking, biking, playing ping-pong, going to the beach with the family dog, camping and traveling to foreign countries.

Paul Braun: Program and Marketing Manager (Right of picture)
Paul is originally from the Portland area, growing up in a small town west of the city. He attended the University of Oregon and obtained concurrent Bachelor’s of Arts in both Business Administration with a focus on Global Business and in Spanish. He obtained his Master’s degree in Postsecondary, Adult & Continuing Education from Portland State University. His past work experience at both universities includes being a Spanish tutor, Resident Assistant, Peer Advisor for the Lundqist College of Business (UO), an Academic Coach for both the Learning Center and Queer Resource Center at PSU and working in a variety of jobs for the PSU International Student Life Team before joining the International Special Programs team. In his free time he enjoys camping, hiking and other outdoor activities as well as exploring Portland’s vibrant music and restaurant scene!

Yuliana Cerrud-Castillo: Program Manager (Left of PIcture)
Yuliana was born in Panamá City, Panamá. She grew up in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area and became a PSU alumna in 2020. In honor of her heritage and native tongue, Yuliana graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature, along with a triple minor in Economics, Secondary Education and Family Studies. After acquiring her degree, she became a Spanish Graduate Teaching Assistant for PSU’s WLL Department. While being a Spanish Professor, she went on to complete a master’s in Spanish Language and Literature in 2022.
Her journey with International Special Programs began in 2022. Since then, she has held Spanish teaching positions at Portland State and Linfield University. Yuliana is an active volunteer at Plaza Encuentro community center in Hillsboro where she has volunteered as a grant writer and events coordinator. Currently, Yuliana is a Program Manager at ISP while actively continuing to be a Spanish Professor.
Yuliana’s favorite season is Winter, so during the snowy Portland months, she enjoys snowboarding and cozying up to warm tea while playing her favorite video games. During the warmer seasons, she enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, tennis and golf.
