Timely Warnings are issued by PSU's Campus Public Safety Office when certain crimes are reported on or near campus in compliance with the Clery Act. These warnings provide information about the reported incident, offer safety tips and advice to aid in preventing similar crimes.

August 20, 2024 7:20 a.m.

Portland Police Bureau responded to a robbery at Plaid Pantry, 2075 SW 1st Ave., at 5:58 a.m. on Aug. 20.

REPORTED OFFENSE: At 5:58 a.m., Portland Police Bureau (PPB) responded to an armed robbery at Plaid Pantry, located at the corner of SW 1st Ave and SW Lincoln Street. The suspect was armed with a gun. They were accompanied by another individual who stayed outside the Plaid Pantry. Both individuals fled the area and were last seen at SW 6th Ave. and SW Mill Street.

The Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) also responded to assist searching the area for the suspect.

SUSPECTS: The suspect is described as medium build, 5 foot 7 inches tall, wearing a full-face white plastic mask, light colored pants and a black hooded jacket and a gray crossbody backpack. The suspect is believed to be a woman. The second individual is described as having shorter brown hair and wearing a multi-colored jacket.

PPB is continuing to investigate.

July 26, 2024 12:45 p.m.

The Campus Public Safety Office and Portland Police Bureau responded to two robberies at Plaid Pantry, 950 SW Mill at 6:46 a.m. and 11:49 a.m. on July 26.

REPORTED OFFENSE: At 6:46 a.m., Portland Police Bureau (PPB) responded to an armed robbery at Plaid Pantry, located at the corner of SW Park and Mill streets. The suspect was armed with a gun and fled the area. The Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) also responded to assist searching the area for the suspect.

A few hours later at 11:49 a.m., CPSO responded to a second robbery at the Plaid Pantry. The suspect was armed with an unknown weapon and fled the scene. They were last seen near SW 13th Ave. and SW Clay St.

It is unclear if the two incidents were committed by the same suspect.

SUSPECTS: The first suspect is described as a short male in their 20s, wearing a black mask that covered their face, a blue or black jacket, and black and white tennis shoes. Their race is unknown.

The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male in their 20s or 30s, wearing a white t-shirt with red lettering, dark pants, a camouflage backpack and a fanny pack worn across their shoulder.

CPSO is continuing to investigate and increasing patrols in the area.
