Committee activities include:

  • Workplace inspections to identify health and safety hazards.
  • Review of injuries/incidents, making recommendations to eliminate or minimize potential hazards and to improve our safety and health programs.
  • Communication with fellow employees to identify and recommend to management possible improvements to equipment, programs, and/or procedures to improve health and safety of maintenance and construction activities on campus.
  • Provision of regular updates and referrals of campus-wide safety issues to the University Safety Committee.

Committee representatives are expected to communicate outcomes and information from the committee to their coworkers. Equally important is the responsibility of committee representatives to communicate safety concerns of their groups to EHS and the committee so they can be addressed.
