WLL Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship supports study in a term, semester or yearlong study abroad program with an explicit language component.

Criteria

You must meet the following requirements:

Full-time PSU student
Completion of at least 90 credits (junior standing)
Completing of at least 12 credits of a world language at PSU
3.0 overall GPA
3.4 GPA in all WLL classes
Financial need
Proposed study abroad program must be approved by PSU Education Abroad Office that takes place in a non-English-speaking country and has an explicit language component

Not eligible for summer study abroad programs.

Application

Your application must contain the following materials:

Completed online application
Transcripts of all course work (can be unofficial);
Essay with your language of study, international experience to date, plans to study abroad, and how your studying abroad experience will affect your future plans; and
Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from PSU language faculty.

Farrens Endowed Scholarship for Overseas Study

This scholarship provides financial support to a student who might not otherwise be able to afford a study abroad trip of a term, semester or year to a non-English-speaking country. Although not required, we hope that students who receive this award will find a way to pay it forward by giving in some way to those PSU students who come after them.
