Presidential Message: Support for our students in Hawaii

Presidential Message

Your Portland State University community is bearing witness to the devastation and tremendous loss of life in Hawaii and we are holding you in our hearts and minds. I am writing today to all of our students in Hawaii to let you know that Portland State is here for you in whatever way we can be during this challenging time.

If you are impacted in any way by the wildfires, we encourage you to take advantage of PSU student resources that may be helpful. PSU CARES can serve as a resource in helping you navigate any academic or personal concern that might impact your success at PSU. Please submit a referral to get in touch. In addition, the Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) offers virtual and in-person health and mental health services. To contact SHAC, please call 503-725-2800 or book an appointment through the Patient Portal.

For those of you who are planning to live on campus, University Housing will reach out to assist with any immediate housing needs. If you don’t have a housing contract, you can still get in touch to find out what options are available should you need immediate housing. Send a message to housing@pdx.edu for more information.

Please know that the PSU community is keeping you in our thoughts and is ready to offer all possible assistance and support.

Sincerely,

Ann E. Cudd
PSU President
