All academic majors have a role in diplomacy. Graduates from all fields have become
successful Foreign Service Officers and Specialists. Career fields include Information
Technology, Administrative Management Affairs (Human Resources, Financial Management,
Facility Management, General Services, Procurement/Contracting, Medical, including
Laboratory Scientists, Nurses, Physicians and Physician Assistants), Law Enforcement and
Security (Diplomatic Security Special Agent), Public Affairs/Diplomacy, Economic Affairs,
Political Affairs, and Consular Affairs. We also have a special program called Consular Fellows
for speakers of Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, or Portuguese.
