  1. Jola Ajibade, geography faculty, was featured in the Al Jazeera article “Investing in People to Save the Planet.”
  2. Anita Bright, education faculty, served as an English language specialist for the U.S. Department of State this summer, facilitating a 3-week professional development series for international teacher candidates.
  3. Henry Covey, English, won the 2021 Best Paper Award from the Association of Computing Machinery-Special Interest Group on the Design of Communication (ACM-SIGDOC) for the report “Disaster Documentation Revisited.”
  4. Paul Loikith, geography faculty, and doctoral student Graham Taylor were featured in the KOIN Podcast special “Climate in Crisis.
  5. Jack Straton, physics and university studies faculty, won the Best Photography award at the 39th Annual Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts, Sept. 17-28.
