Family Geography Night Grants

Individuals or groups may apply for grants for family geography programs in their schools. The maximum grant award is $1000 per event.  (A limit of $300 will be approved for food expense not used in a station.) The grant recipient/geography program organizer will receive a stipend of $300 and ten $10 Amazon gift certificates to give to their volunteers.  C-GEO has a Manual to Hosting a Successful Family Geography Night  to help you plan your event!

Teacher Incentive Grants

Intended for materials for actual instruction, such as: classroom atlas, videos, software, paperback books, and supplies for a project. Funds may be used for fees, guest speakers, or as matching grants if there is a clear geographic content. Cannot be used to finance workshop/conference fees or travel. Materials purchased will be the property of the TC grant recipient, not of their school. However, projects that benefit the greater school community will receive stronger consideration. Individual grants up to $1000; groups of TCs may apply for up to $2000.

Travel Grants

C-GEO supports its Teacher Consultants representing C-GEO at conferences, seminars, and workshops by providing a stipend to offset costs incurred by the Teacher Consultant. These costs may include registration, travel, lodging and meals. The maximum stipend offered for out-of-state travel is $1500 and maximum stipend for in-state travel is $500.  If we receive multiple travel grant applications, preference will be given to TCs who are giving a presentation.
