Deadlines

Gender, Race, and Nations graduate students can be admitted in any term.

  • Fall: July 1
  • Winter: Nov. 1
  • Spring: Feb. 1
  • Summer: May 1

Application Materials

Below is the list of the materials and information you will need to provide as part of your application. We recommend preparing these materials in advance of submitting your application.

  • Statement of Purpose: In 500 words, explain your reasons for choosing to undertake the Graduate Certificate in Gender, Race, and Nations. Based on your previous coursework and experiences, how will this certificate specifically further your personal and professional journey?
  • References: Submit contact information for at least one academic or other professional who can comment on your academic performance or attest to your skills as they pertain to your selected program of study. Portland State University will contact your references and provide them with instructions for submitting recommendation forms.
  • Copies of transcripts from each college or university attended
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency (if applicable)

Once the admissions committee has made a recommendation decision regarding your application, the form will be processed by the PSU Graduate School, and you will receive an electronic notification of acceptance.
