Dr. Kelly E. Gleason, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Management, and the Director of the Graduate Certificate Program in Hydrology, at Portland State University. She received her PhD from the Oregon State University in Geography in 2015, and prior to joining Portland State University, she worked for the US Geological Survey and the Desert Research Institute as a research fellow. Her research focuses on the interactions and feedbacks of hydrology, climatology, and ecology under a changing climate system. She uses creative experimentation, micro-meteorology, geochemical analysis, remote sensing, and integrated modeling of eco-hydro-climate systems to evaluate how acute disturbances such as forest fire, and prolonged disturbances such as drought and climate change, alter snow and ice processes, snow-water storage and snowmelt, and influence regional-scale water resource availability.
