Prospective students seeking guidance on how to navigate any aspect of the admission process are welcome to schedule appointments with Portland State admission counselors. You can choose to meet in-person, by phone, or in a virtual Zoom meeting. To view available appointments, select the green dates displayed on the calendar. All appointments are scheduled in Pacific time.
If your counselor is not available, you can view all admissions counselor appointments and meet with another counselor.

Tom grew up in La Grande, Oregon and attended the University of Oregon for college. During his undergraduate studies, Tom broadened his horizons through domestic and international programs. He worked with UO Housing, UO Club Sports, and the American English Institute. He was also active in support programs for underrepresented students and was able to work and learn abroad in both Spain and Japan.
Tom received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish with a focus in teaching. He then completed his Master's in Language Teaching Studies at UO to teach at universities abroad. The pandemic then brought Tom closer to his community in Oregon, as he looked to higher ed as a career path. Tom worked for Southern Oregon University as an admissions counselor before joining the staff at PSU.
