Prospective students seeking guidance on how to navigate any aspect of the admission process are welcome to schedule appointments with Portland State admission counselors. Lindsay joined Portland State University in January of 2022. She is from Eugene, Oregon but has spent a combined four years living abroad: teaching in Kyiv, Ukraine, and Budapest, Hungary, and attending graduate school in St. Petersburg, Russia. She worked in student services at the University of Oregon for two years and spent five years working in international education at an F-1 international student agency in Portland. She has also volunteered with UNHCR in Ukraine and IRCO in Portland.
Lindsay earned a Master of Arts degree in International Relations, specializing in Russian Foreign Policy and Ukrainian/Russian Relations, from European University in St. Petersburg, Russia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and Political Science from the University of Oregon and she also took courses in marketing, Russian language, and economics at Portland Community College for fun.
In her free time, Lindsay likes to take advantage of Oregon hiking and camping, as well as discovering different Portland parks with her daughter. She is on a relay team of other "lazy" runners, where they never train very much, complain before and during the legs, and only sign up for races for the party afterwards. She is slowly learning how to do home repairs on her 90 year old home and hopes to be a skilled carpenter/plumber/electrician someday! Her favorite food near campus is Duck House; she can never say no to Xiao Long Bao.
