Virtual Computer Lab (VLAB)

Service description

The Virtual Computer Lab (VLAB) provides students access to a selection of academic software applications with their personal computers. PSU students who are registered for the current or next term have access to the VLAB environment at vlab.pdx.edu

The VLAB provides additional access to OIT computer lab resources and specialty applications. It reduces the need for students to purchase expensive computer applications, creates a fun and easy-to-use virtual environment, and helps reduce barriers to students successfully completing their courses.

Service details

For instructions on how to sign in, visit the Virtual Computer Lab overview page in the PSU Help Center.

Note: Although this service is primarily for students, faculty also have access. We recommend that faculty and other PSU employees use Employee Virtual Desktop instead.

Charges and fees

The VLAB is free for current PSU students.

Customized VLABs can be provided (for a fee) to schools and departments that need specialty software, higher performance hardware (for example, GPUs), or dedicated sessions for simultaneous use during class time.
