Google Chat now available in Gmail

You can now get all the features of Chat directly in Gmail! With the new Chat widget, you can collaborate and stay connected from a central location.

Google Chat includes many “Slack-like” features, including the ability to:

• Create private conversations.
• Create persistent rooms for ongoing group conversations.
• Share files.
• Share task lists.

Choose from the following options to use Google Chat:

• Chat widget in Gmail at mail.pdx.edu.
• Chat application at chat.google.com.
• Mobile apps for Android and iOS.

Classic Hangouts are still available through hangouts.google.com.
