Joining a PSU student organization is one of the best ways to make new friends, explore topics you care about, and gain new skills. With over 100 active groups to choose from, you’re sure to find one that fits your interests!

At the Student Sustainability Center, you can explore intersectional sustainability practices and build community by joining one or more volunteer teams centered on gardening and cultural sustainability.

PSU’s student government, the Associated Students of Portland State University (ASPSU), works to amplify the voice of the student community. You can gain valuable leadership experience as an ASPSU member, serving on the Student Senate, Judicial Review Board, Student Fee Committee, or the Executive Cabinet.

Passionate about volunteering? Get involved with the Student Community Engagement Center! Through meaningful opportunities ranging from one-day service events to year-long leadership roles, you can find ways to engage that align with the issues you care about and become a catalyst for positive social change.

Student Media is the home of PSU’s officially recognized student-run media outlets, including the Vanguard, The Pacific Sentinel, KPSU, Sub-Basement, Studios and the Pathos Literary Magazine. Get trained to work as a reporter, DJ, photographer, videographer, designer and more, with no experience necessary!

With PSU Student Operated Services you can pursue your passions and find an on-campus job you’ll love. With 5 student-led organizations to choose from, you can curate art exhibitions, concerts, film programming, social events, and work to mitigate student food insecurity.

Starting a student organization is an amazing way to find your people and get involved on campus. Our groups represent a huge diversity of interest areas, including academics, politics, service, arts, culture and identity, and are the heart of student life at Portland State.
