How to Get Involved

Run in the 2024-2025 ASPSU Elections!

Have you wondered if there’s a way to build on what you’re learning as a student leader to become an advocate for your fellow PSU students? ASPSU is looking for students who would like to run in the 2024-2025 ASPSU Elections.

We are looking for PSU students to run as senators, student fee committee members, and even President/Vice President for the 2024-2025 academic year. We accept all majors and encourage undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and graduate students who are interested to apply!

If you have any questions email Madeline Frisk, ASPSU Adviser at mfrisk@pdx.edu or Sophia Francis, ASPSU Elections Committee Chair at election@pdx.edu. These positions receive an ELSA stipend per term which varies based on the position. To find more information about individual roles check out our current job descriptions document here. Some positions may change due to pending constitutional changes but this should give you an idea of what to expect!

If you are looking to join we encourage you to apply using our 2024 Elections application at this link. This application will close by April 1st at 11:59 pm unless extended by the ASPSU Elections Committee.

Students who miss the deadline to be included on the ballot can run a write-in campaign. This means getting as many students as possible to write in your name for the position you are seeking.

Contact Madeline Frisk, SALP ASPSU & Greek Life Adviser at mfrisk@pdx.edu if you have questions related to the elections process.

Constitutional committees report to the Faculty Senate, and administrative committees report directly to the University President. Any student can sit on these committees, and all students are encouraged to do so. Follow these steps to get involved:

FFAs are looking for students! Apply for an FFA Advisory Board today!

Fee-Funded Area Advisory Boards

Fee-Funded Areas (FFAs) are areas around campus that provide a variety of resources, all of which are either fully or partially funded by the Student Incidental fee (learn more about FFAs and students fees on the Student Fee Committee page).

Being on an FFA Advisory Board would involve voting to approve budgets, discuss programming, and activities, and make other important decisions regarding the FFA.  Any student can sit on these committees, and all students are encouraged to do so! Being a part of one of these boards would be a great opportunity to get involved in other parts of campus with a low time commitment.

To learn more about what kind of Advisory Boards you can join and how to apply, check out the Advisory Board list.
