AESS Seminars

The Association of Environmental Science Students (AESS) is ESM’s student group.  AESS hosts a weekly seminar event and ad hoc events throughout the year (e.g., grad school info night, ESM career week events, the spring ESM research colloquium).  Weekly seminar events include research talks, workshops, social hours with faculty, and presentations from outside organizations.  The purpose of the seminar is to provide a casual platform for the presentation of topics relevant for Environmental Science and Environmental Studies majors (others are welcome too).

We are always looking for potential topics and speakers.  If you have ideas for presentations or would like to present at an AESS seminar, please reach out to us at aess@pdx.edu. Students doing research are encouraged to present their work.  Presentations can be half-baked ideas that can benefit from an informal conversation to fully polished presentations on all subjects within environmental science.

All AESS events are free and open to the public.  The AESS calendar is posted below, and you can also visit the AESS webpage to find out more about AESS, events, and participation.
