Every week during the academic year, Currently celebrates faculty and staff accomplishments, including appearances on panels, presentations, recent publications or performances, and research grants.
- Idowu (Jola) Ajibade, geography faculty, Vivek Shandas, urban studies and planning faculty, and Todd Rosenstiel, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean, received a $1.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation in collaboration with Aaron Ramirez from Reed College, and Kevan Moffett from Washington State University to work on a collaborative study that aims to understand how the history of redlining and structural racism continues to impact neighborhoods through tree-planting policies. The project’s goal is to identify opportunities for undoing legacies of inequality in urban tree-human dynamics, and to foster equitable and resilient communities.
