  1. Scott Burns, geology faculty emeritus, discussed landslides and floods in western Oregon and Washington on KOIN-TV on Jan. 6-7.
  2. Anahita Khodadadi, architecture faculty, gave a talk called “Multi-objective Form-exploration Using a Genetic Algorithm and TRIZ” Jan. 10 at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, as a part of the Lightweight and Structures Series. 
  3. Jack Straton, physics and university studies faculty, won third place among U.S. artists at the Cabrillo Gallery “Natural Habitats” juried show on display from Jan. 24-Feb. 25 in Aptos, California. 
  4. Ashley Streig, geology faculty, appeared on an episode of the Willamette Week Podcast called “The Big One” on Dec. 15. 
  5. Birol Yeşilada, government faculty and director of the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government, joined a virtual event on Jan. 6, formally inviting the Hatfield School of Government to the U.S. Cyber Command’s Academic Engagement Network. Read more.
