Service Description
Gemini is Google’s generative AI tool. You can engage in dialog with Gemini through a chat interface or through the NotebookLM service. Additional add-ons for faculty and staff (available for purchase) enable more Gemini features such as integrations with Google Workspace tools like Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Service Details
- Gemini for Students and Employees: Allows use of Gemini via chat.
- Gemini Education Add-On (purchase required): Allows use of Gemini via chat and through integration with existing Workspace tools. Provides access to Google’s most advanced AI models.
- Gemini Education Premium Add-On (purchase required): Provides all the features above and adds enhancements to Google Meet like audio and visual improvements, captions, and automatic note taking and transcription of meetings.

Gemini for Employees and the Gemini Education and Education Premium add-ons are governed by the Google Workspace for Education Terms of Service and are suitable for data that would otherwise be appropriate to store in Google Drive.
Gemini for Students is governed by the Google Terms of Service. Although Google does not use data entered on pdx.edu accounts to train the large language model or for human reviewers, it is not suitable for confidential or restricted data types as outlined in the PSU Information Security Policy.
Availability
This service is available to the following groups:
Gemini for Students and Employees is available to everyone at PSU. Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium add-ons are available to faculty and staff for a monthly fee.
Charges and Fees
- Gemini for Students and Employees: free of charge
- Gemini Education: $16 per licensed user per month (1 year commitment required)
- Gemini Education Premium: $24 per licensed user per month (1 year commitment required)
