Learn more about how OIT was named among the 100 Best Places to Work in IT.

For the fifth year running, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) was announced as a part of IDG’s Insider Pro and Computerworld list of Best Places to Work in IT. This 27th annual Best Places to Work in IT report recognizes the top 100 organizations that value challenging projects and a positive corporate culture that affirms teamwork. This recognition is especially noteworthy in light of the recent pivot to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employees Are Our Number One Value

“We are very proud to be ranked 26th among large organizations,” said Kirk Kelly, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Portland State University. “Employees are our number one value, and I am proud to work with our outstanding staff; this award is a reflection of the great work environment that PSU and OIT have created for our employees, and even more so in an especially challenging year as we transitioned to a primarily distributed work environment.”

From a welcoming onboarding process to flexibility in work hours and locations, PSU’s OIT prides itself on creating a culture of caring, with a focus on professional development and a commitment to health and wellness. OIT has fostered a community with a passion for inclusion, diversity, and sustainability. This culture has led to low turnover and high interest in community engagement.
