Biography:

Yael is a Urban Studies Ph.D. student focusing on public space with an interest in the physical realm and social-political issues of public space. With a background in planning, and having practiced planning in her native Israel, she is integrating social and spatial aspects of planning with theory concentrating in urban design, property, and feminist approaches to social and political justice. In her free time she enjoys travelling, movies, and exploring the city on foot, especially after dark.
As part of graduate research work Yael has participated in projects relating to public spaces, Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU), and Green Infrastructure. She currently partakes in the University Studies Mentor program, as a teaching mentor for sophomore inquiry classes.
