Maya (she/her) is a Psychologist Resident at PSU SHAC for the 2023-2024 academic year. She obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Teachers College, Columbia University and her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship from Vanderbilt University. Maya has gained clinical experience with diverse client populations in various settings including alternative education, higher education, and community mental health.
As a clinician, Maya integrates a strengths-based and Person-Centered approach to therapy rooted in a multicultural and feminist orientation. Her clinical interests include intersectional identity exploration, social anxiety, self-esteem, and adjustment concerns. Outside of work, Maya enjoys figure skating, hiking, and having movie marathons with friends.
