Russian Flagship Program

Honors and Awards: NSLI-Y participant 2018, Narva, Estonia

What do you plan to do with your fluency in Russian? I plan on using my fluency in Russian to achieve a career that allows me to travel. I am fascinated by other languages and cultures. I hope to work for the UN or US foreign service.

What attracted you to the PSU Russian Flagship? I was attracted to the Flagship Program at PSU because of the unique opportunities it offers. I come from a Russian-immersion background, and the vigorous structure of the Flagship program aligns with my language goals.

What’s the best aspect of being in the PSU Russian Flagship? For me, the best aspect of the PSU Flagship program is the number of resources and support available. From valuable opportunities and information given by guest speakers to Russian tutoring available almost every day, the program really caters to all of my needs.

Why is fluency in Russian important to you? Fluency in Russian is important to me because languages have the power to connect people from all over. I believe that there is an entirely different way of understanding the world hidden in language. Also, the Russian language and literature are beautiful, and I hope to one day be able to speak and read on a professional level.
