Daria Aleeva comes from the Siberian city of Irkutsk, Russia. She holds a B.A. in Teaching Foreign Languages from Irkutsk State Linguistic University, a master's degree in TESOL from Portland State, and is ABD in Second Language Acquisition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her interests include language pedagogy, developing teaching materials, community building, and reading in a second language. Language teaching has always been her passion, and she has been teaching Russian since 2007. Aleeva started first as a Fulbright scholar, and then joined the Russian Flagship Program at Portland State. She has also worked for the Russian Flagship in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and at UW-Madison. She is happy and proud to be back at PSU and to teach Russian here, in the place that has become her second home.
