Applications for 2021 Sustainability Mentorship Program due by December 15th

The Sustainability Mentorship Program offers Portland State University students an opportunity to connect with professionals in a variety of sustainability-related fields for a five-month mentorship experience. With the support of a Sustainability Mentor, students can discuss their professional goals, gain clarity on their career interests in the realm of sustainability, widen their perspective on workplace dynamics, develop their networking skills, seek input on their resume, cover letter, and/or interviewing tips, and more.

Details: 

The Sustainability Mentorship Program will run from February - June of 2021. Students and professionals from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. If you are matched, there will be a kick off event Friday, February 5th from 5 - 7 PM and you will meet monthly over zoom with your mentee/mentor until June 2021.

Eligibility: 

  • Currently enrolled as a Portland State student (undergraduate or graduate) through at least Spring 2021.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in a sustainability-related field.
  • Committed to investing 1-2 hours each month from February - June 2021, connecting with your mentor through Zoom meetings.
  • Must be signed up for the Emerging Sustainability Leaders program.

Eligibility:

  • A professional with at least three years of experience in a sustainability-related field or position.
  • Interested in supporting students in their sustainability-related career explorations & Willing to share information about your career path and your personal experiences working in sustainability-related fields.
  • Committed to invest 1-2 hours each month from February - June 2021, communicating with mentee through Virtual meetings
