ISS - Student Sustainability Internships

The Institute for Sustainable Solutions’ internship program enables students to work closely with leading s sustainability professionals, developing work-based skills, gaining hands-on experience and applying academic knowledge to a work setting. Interns develop professional relationships that provide mentoring, ongoing support and post-graduation connections. Community partners are able to tackle projects they lacked the staff or budget to complete. The funding that interns receive enables them to focus fully on their internship experience and reduces student debt and reliance on employment unrelated to their career goals.

Past internships have paired students with local organizations and government agencies working on a range of solution-focused projects - from disaster resilience and community planning to health and climate justice and renewable energy.

ISS-funded internships are part-time and typically last 3 academic terms. They are available to graduate and undergraduate students from all majors. The program is a partnership between the office of Advising & Career Services and ISS.
