Federal TEACH Grant

The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides up to $4,000 per year (the current, annual award is slightly reduced due to federal sequestration) in grants for graduate and undergraduate students who intend to teach full-time as a highly qualified teacher in high-need subject areas for at least four years at schools that serve students from low-income families.

Graduate students are eligible for up to $4,000 per year ($8,000 total). However, the current annual award is slightly reduced due to federal sequestration.

Undergraduate students may receive up to $4,000 per year ($16,000 for undergraduate study and/or up to $8,000 for graduate study). However, the current annual award is slightly reduced due to federal sequestration.

Part-time students are eligible, but the maximum grant will be reduced.

If a student fails to complete the four year teaching obligation, they must repay the grant with interest.
