Spring 2025 Term
For Spring Term 2025 we will be scheduling exams Tuesday - Friday. Exam proctoring support requests for exams other than finals must be submitted at least 7 business days before the desired exam appointment date due to the communication and coordination necessary among students, faculty, proctors, the DRC, and so forth. The further in advance these are submitted to us the better.
Final Exams: The cutoff for Final Exam support requests for Spring 2025 is Tuesday, May 28 at 11:59 PM. We have extended availability by two days, given that Monday, 5/26, is Memorial Day.
How to Submit an Exam Support Request
Step 1: Carefully review the Student Testing Agreement. We update this each term and by making an appointment with PSU Academic Testing Services, you are attesting that you have read the entire agreement and agree to abide by it in full.
Step 2: Complete and submit the Student Exam Request form. This form is to request both accommodated exams and makeup exams. Note that we will need the completed exam request form submitted once for each individual exam.
Step 3: Once Academic Testing Services has received guidance from your instructor, we will send you a scheduling email with a proposed exam date and time. Please respond to this email to confirm your exam appointment. If you have concerns around the scheduling and timing of this exam, please reply with any scheduling constraints.
Step 4: Once your exam time has been confirmed, you will receive an exam confirmation email with information about your exam location, and what materials are allowed during your exam per the guidance from your instructor.
Final Exams: The cutoff for Final Exam support requests for Spring 2025 is Tuesday, May 28 at 11:59 PM. We have extended availability by two days given that Monday, 5/26 is Memorial Day. Please do not request an exception to this as it is what allows us to serve everyone who needs our services.
All Other Exams: Exam proctoring support requests for exams other than finals must be submitted at least 7 business days before the desired exam appointment date due to the communication and coordination necessary among students, faculty, proctors, the DRC, and so forth. The further in advance these are submitted to us the better.

Important: Academic Testing Services is no longer a part of Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) as of 2020, nor are we a part of the DRC.
Academic Testing Services provides accommodated testing support for PSU students registered with the Disability Resource Center (DRC), as well as for their instructors. We are committed to maintaining accessibility, integrity, and professionalism throughout all aspects of the test administration process. We operate in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Exams are conducted in various locations around campus, so it is very important to check the details for each exam for the location.
An important note regarding the Distraction-Reduced Space accommodation: The “Distraction-Reduced Space” accommodation does not mean a private room, nor a room that is entirely distraction free -- though we do our best to make it as quiet and free of distractions as we can. We aim for a room at a third capacity or less, though up to half capacity can still be considered distraction reduced if the room is otherwise relatively quiet with minimal activity and distractions. Please remember that Testing Services has in-ear earplugs, and over-the-ear noise muffling earmuffs. Please let us know if you would like to use either or both of these during your exam with us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a question that isn’t on this list? Contact us!
Q. I have testing accommodations and need to request support for a test. What should I do?
A. If you have DRC testing accommodations, you can fill out the simple, two-step request process near the top of this page. An alternative to testing with Academic Testing Services would be taking your exam in Canvas. If you would like to test in Canvas, you may request to do so from your instructor. However, they may decline your request. In that case, you will need to test with Academic Testing Services or by other arrangements with your instructor.
Let your instructor know that you wish to activate your testing accommodations for the scheduled exams. They will then determine the best way to support you, whether that is by putting the exam into Canvas, proctoring the accommodated exam themselves or with a designee, or submitting a request with Academic Testing Services to proctor your exam via the process outlined in the Testing Information for Faculty section of our website.
If your instructor is able to make arrangements to proctor your accommodated exam, please continue to work directly with them in order to get the accommodations you need for your test. If your instructor lets you know that you will need to request support from Academic Testing Services, please complete the process outlined near the top of this page to submit a course exam support request.
IMPORTANT: Requests must be submitted to Academic Testing Services at least 7 business days in advance of the desired exam date. If you have any questions, please send an email to: TestingServices@pdx.edu

Q. How do I contact Academic Testing Services and when are you open?
A. The best, most efficient way to communicate with us is by email: testingServices@pdx.edu. Please include enough detail so we are able to fully understand your request and follow up with you accordingly.
You may also reach us by phone by dialing (503) 725-4459 during business hours, which are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, except on days when the University is closed.
Q. Where is Academic Testing Services located?
A. Academic Testing Services operates out of multiple locations on campus and in-person services are by appointment only. Please pay close attention to communications from us so that you'll know the location of each individual appointment.
Exams are conducted in locations around campus, especially during Midterms and Finals, so please pay close attention to where your exam is taking place each time, which we will communicate to you via email a day or two before your exam.
Important: You will need your PSU Student ID card in order to enter most buildings where testing takes place. For the Testing Center in UCB, you will need to scan your ID to get into the building and then again in the elevator to come up to the third floor.

Q. Can I schedule a make-up exam with Testing Services?
A. Starting Spring 2024, in an effort to expand our support for students and faculty, PSU Academic Testing Services has resumed offering limited support for make-up exams for non-DRC registered students. This was discontinued during the heart of the pandemic and we have been keen to resume it as soon as operationally possible. This is now offered on a capacity basis as we do have to prioritize support for DRC-registered students and their instructors.
You can submit a support request via our Student Exam Request Form. We will need your instructor to provide details about the exam via our Exam Guidance from Instructor form.
Q. Does Academic Testing Services offer community testing or testing for non-accommodated PSU students?
A. We no longer provide community testing or services for the exams listed below. More information may be available via the links here:
