Infant/Toddler Mental Health Graduate Certificate Overview

 The Infant/Toddler Mental Health (ITMH) graduate certificate is a fully online, 20-credit program designed for service providers who work with families with children ages prenatal to 3 years old. Early childhood and early intervention educators, mental health, health care, social services, social workers, and counselors as well as home visitors and childcare providers will benefit from the interdisciplinary and relationship-based approach of the ITMH program. Our instructional team is composed of faculty from the fields of psychology, special education, and counseling and highlights the most current research and interventions throughout ITMH coursework.

Infant/Toddler Mental Health Graduate Certificate: Why PSU?

 Infant Toddler Mental Health is a growing field of practice that blends coursework to address the strengths and risk factors of children 0-3 and their families. Established in 2003, the ITMH program at PSU is one of the oldest in the country. Program participants come from urban and rural areas and from across the United States and Internationally to study with faculty who practice in the field of Infant Mental Health. Designed for the working professional, faculty support, and challenges students to apply their learning to their current and future work. Cohorts develop relationships that continue beyond the program, creating networks for change.

We understand online learning. We are in our second decade of working with students in online environments. All cohorts start with an online Orientation to learn how to navigate the software and to make connections with others. Our faculty and advisor support your success as a graduate student with a 95% graduation rate. We view education and experience as intertwined with classes building on a collaborative learning model.
