PSU History

Marina joined PSU's School of Social Work in Fall 2015.

Experience

Marina is proud to serve as the Student Inclusion Coordinator and a BSW Adjunct Faculty Member within the School of Social Work. In her role as the Student Inclusion Coordinator, she provides ongoing student and faculty support in the areas of recruitment and retention, with a specific focus on students of color and first generation students. Marina holds a Master’s of Social Work, a Master’s in Women’s & Gender Studies, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management & Philanthropy from Loyola University Chicago.

Academic/Research Interests

Marina is particularly interested in the experiences of BIPOC students in higher education and in social work education.

Personal Interests

Marina is deeply committed to reproductive justice, and serves as a Board Member of the ACLU of Oregon and the NW Abortion Access Fund. Marina is a proud queer, Latinx mother who has called Monterey, Boston, Chicago, and now Portland home.
