Sarah Williams (she/her) joined SHAC in 2023 as the Associate Director of Counseling Services. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Abilene Christian University and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Argosy University. As a licensed Marriage and Family therapist, Sarah has worked in a variety of settings supporting clients in shelters, community based agencies and for profit clinics. She began her relationship with PSU as an adjunct professor in the Counselor Education department in 2017. Her Clinical areas of interest include: multicultural counseling, diversity equity and social justice practices, Spirituality, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Narrative therapy, Religious trauma, and treatment of other mental health concerns that get in the way of the life her clients wish to live.

Sarah is excited to be a part of the SHAC team to engage in the ongoing work of supporting student success and wellbeing.  She aligns closely with the values of the work at SHAC and aims to support top quality service delivery, innovation, connection and learning.  Her wealth of experience in DEI and client centered work throughout her career are a welcome addition to the SHAC team.

When not at SHAC you can find Sarah in her garden in the summer and fall, spending time with her family, engaged with her community or baking something delicious in the kitchen.
