PSU History

I graduated from the School of Social Work's MSW program in 2013, began teaching as an adjunct in 2016, got hired as an instructor in 2017 and then as an Assistant Professor of Practice in 2020.

Experience

Most of my professional experience is in community-based mezzo and macro social work. I ran a community school program in Beaverton School District for 4 years after grad school. I got my start in community organizing in 2007 and have organized on campaigns for social change, ballot measures, and candidates. I have done community-initiated racial equity research and I have designed and co-facilitated trainings and workshops since 2012.

Academic/Research Interests

Social change, mutual aid, immigrant & refugee rights and organizing, poverty and social welfare policy, housing policy, racial equity research, anti-oppressive practice, popular education, and anti-racist pedagogy.

Personal Interests

Writing/performing music, hiking, science fiction, table top RPGs, running, and recovering from running.
