Biography:
Maryam’s research interest is feminist urban political ecology. She is interested in investigating the dynamic connections between cities and nature through the lens of social reproduction. She specifically focuses on the urban environment of oil cities, their formation, and their unevenly toxic environment. Maryam’s doctoral research is a critical comparative study that brings oil cities from the global north and global south into a conversation. Her research will shed light on the life of those who live directly with oil pollution. Besides research, she loves photography and reading novels.
