Madz Wright

Madz (she/they), is an east coast human, from the frigid lands of Buffalo, NY. She is a Queer identifying Clinical Social Work Associate, and Social Work Resident here at SHAC. Prior to joining SHAC in 2022, Madz earned their MSW at Portland State University. Madz has been profoundly impacted by their work in Wilderness Therapy, where they worked with trauma survivors alongside harsh elements and juniper trees. As a budding clinician, Madz leads with her heart and is passionate about working with Queer/LGBTQ+ folks, trauma survivors, those seeking support around navigating relationship challenges, and folks who find themselves in helping and caregiving roles.

Madz holds a person-centered feminist approach that honors the impact of systems and isms. Madz draws from Internal Family Systems and Narrative Therapy to inform their growing practice. Madz enjoys envisioning a possible future as a comedian, spending time with their chosen family, growing food and flowers, and making music.
