Kevin helps our students write great capstones, final written papers that culminate the EMPA program, and reflect on both
their professional experience and their future aspirations.
Kevin’s own experiences inform this work with our students…as an EMPA (2014) alumnus…a public sector practitioner…and a PhD candidate at the School of Public Affairs & Administration at the University of Kansas (KU).
Kevin particularly values the EMPA’s emphasis on reflective practice; the cultivation of professionals who are well-
informed, ethical, and thoughtful in their approach to ‘administering democracy.’ He tries to practice these principles in
his own work and foster it in student capstones.
