Jan Abramovitz, PhD, is an assistant professor in Curriculum and Instruction at Portland State University. He completed his doctorate at Oregon State University in teacher leadership and holds a master’s degree from Columbia University Teachers College. He has a specific interest in arts education and kinesthetic learning. Dr. Abramovitz was a founding member of the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics as well as the Oregon Teacher Arts Institute. Formerly on the dance education faculty at New York University and Lesley University, he continues to work with children through his role as a teaching artist for The Vibrant Classroom and The Right Brain Initiative.
