Howard Yank is emeritus faculty for the College of Education at Portland State University, and is a former curriculum administrator for advanced programs and teacher mentor. Howard holds degrees from UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University. He has more than 25 years of teaching experience in schools in California, Oregon and Washington, as well as international schools in Latin America. He developed and taught in a dual language (Spanish) secondary program in Eugene, and has facilitated the opening of dual language programs in Vancouver Public Schools. Currently, he continues to teach a course on classroom environment, serves as an equity grading coach for Crescendo Education Group, and is an instructional coach for faculty at an alternative public high school in Vancouver, WA.
