Biography:

Garret is a long-time writer and editor, and a veteran of the Portland-area technology industry. He worked for local companies such as Tektronix, Pixelworks, Intel, Kentrox, and Radisys, and published application notes, release notes, online help sets, user guides, reference guides, installation instructions, and more. He has taught at Portland State since 1998, primarily sections of the introduction to technical writing course (WR227) as well as periodic graduate-level courses. Garret has published numerous guide books and magazine articles regarding geology, rockhounding, prospecting, and other field studies.
