Amanda Sugimoto, PhD, is an associate professor in elementary teacher preparation. She completed her PhD in teaching and teacher education at the University of Arizona, and specializes in preparing elementary teachers to work with linguistically, culturally, and racially diverse students. She has extensive experience working with linguistically diverse students both in the United States and abroad. Her research focuses on improving the educational experiences and access of linguistically, culturally, and racially diverse students in schools, particularly in mathematics and assessment.
