Nujhat began working with the NPCC as a graduate assistant in 2019 and has served in various roles across NPCC since then. It was during her time as a graduate assistant that Nujhat was first exposed to collaborative governance. In her time working with Oregon Solutions and Oregon's Kitchen Table, she saw that collaborative governance helps create sustainable policies that serve everyone's needs. As part of her role, Nujhat is an instructor in NPCC's Training and Academic Services, a program that she is passionate about. One of her favorite NPCC educational programs is the Civic Leadership Academy, which is delivered in partnership with city governments. Through this program, Nujhat observes community people emerging as leaders and getting involved with their city, which builds overall civic capacity in Oregon.

Nujhat has a master of public policy degree, a master of government degree, and a master of social science in international relations degree. She has experience as a teaching and research assistant, and was a program supervisor for a global exchange program between the United Kingdom and Bangladesh. She is currently pursuing a PhD in public affairs and policy.
