Update regarding on-campus services for students

Last week, we let you know that the omicron surge is causing disruptions, with quarantine and isolation requirements causing some in-person classes to shift temporarily to a remote format.

Unfortunately, omicron is also disrupting some non-instructional in-person services.

Our campus is open, but some of the offices and people you rely on as a student may need to make short-term adjustments to their schedules to cope with staff absences due to illness, isolation and quarantine requirements. You may notice some offices reducing their in-person hours or temporarily offering remote services.

What this means for you
We recognize that this may cause you difficulty, and we sincerely apologize. We anticipate that this will be a short-term challenge, as public health forecasts show the omicron case surge declining in the coming weeks.

We have asked every department to post signs, update their websites, and change their outgoing email and phone messages when their service hours change.

Before traveling to visit an on-campus student service, we ask that you check that department’s website or call the department to confirm that in-person services are available.

Thanks for your patience and perseverance during this challenging time.
